The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) organized the Private High Schools Academic Counselors Day on February 3, 2025, at Lusail Theatre, bringing together counselors from Qatar’s Indian schools. The event focused on “Know Your Student’s Needs – Effective Communication” and aimed to enhance communication skills in student counseling.
The keynote session, led by Dr. Milan Milanovic and Dr. Trisha Lamers, highlighted strategies for effective student engagement, overcoming communication challenges, and linking personality types to communication effectiveness. Key takeaways included active listening, building trust, and understanding non-verbal cues to create a supportive environment for students.
The event also introduced new academic programs at UDST and provided insights into the IELTS Testing Center, helping counselors guide students in their academic and career choices. The day concluded with networking opportunities, fostering collaboration among professionals dedicated to student well-being.
