“We Care” Session for Grade 10

June 16, 2025:

A meaningful and engaging session titled “We Care – Understanding Ourselves and Our Relationships” was conducted for Grade 10 students at the SIS Multi-Purpose Hall by Ms. Faheema Mustafa (School Counsellor) and Ms. Shamsiya Suhaibu (Care and Guidance Mentor).
The session began with an attention-grabbing activity, “Box of Burdens”, centered on the powerful idea that letting go is empowering. This introductory activity set a thoughtful and reflective tone, encouraging students to acknowledge and release emotional burdens.
Following this, a Group Activity on Behavioral Attributes was conducted. Each group was represented by a student who came forward to express their thoughts on a given attribute presented in the form of a scrambled word. This interactive format not only enhanced the engagement level but also fostered teamwork, critical thinking, and empathy among students. The enthusiasm and active participation of the students reflected their genuine interest in the topic.
To reinforce the session’s learning outcomes, a worksheet for self-reflection focusing on the Feelings Scale was distributed. This provided students with an opportunity to introspect and better understand their emotions and behavioral patterns.
The session concluded with a thoughtful address by the Vice Principal, Mr. Sujith Kumar, who appreciated the students for their energetic and meaningful participation. He emphasized the importance of self-awareness and healthy relationships in shaping a well-rounded individual.
Overall, the session was impactful and well-received, leaving students with valuable insights into self-understanding and relationship-building.
