April 18, 2026:
The Foundational and Preparatory Section of Shantiniketan Indian School commemorated World Heritage Day on 16th April 2026 with a vibrant array of art-integrated activities. Guided by the mother teachers of Grades 1 and 2, students enthusiastically engaged in poster-making, expressing their ideas creatively. They explored traditional motif art inspired by Qatari weaving and stitching, while some classes innovatively used colorful pulses to decorate famous monuments. Students also shared interesting facts about Qatar, learning to draw its landforms and national flag.
For Grades 3 to 5, the celebration was organized by Activity Coordinator Ms. Nazia Tahseen under the supervision of Academic Supervisor, Mr. Wayne Rodrigues. The event began with an introduction to UNESCO’s role in preserving heritage. Grade 3 students colored global and Qatari landmarks, Grade 4 designed travel brochures promoting responsible tourism, and Grade 5 shared their family heritage. The activities fostered creativity, communication, and a deeper appreciation for cultural preservation.
