World Hindi Diwas was celebrated at Shantiniketan Indian School with great enthusiasm. Different activities were conducted involving students from various sections. The activities included poster making and recitation of poems. Some cultural events such as group song, speech, storytelling were organised. In addition to that, students were given opportunities to wish each other in Hindi and also speak in Hindi on the topic ‘The Significance of Hindi Language’. All these programmes were conducted with the aim of creating awareness among our students about the importance of Hindi language. While speaking on the topic and wishing each other in Hindi, the students could identify some similarities in certain words between Hindi and Arabic. In addition, this would also help them value and protect our culture and heritage.
