October 9, 2025:
As part of the World Mental Health Day 2025 celebrations, students of Grades 1 and 2 enthusiastically participated in a range of engaging and age-appropriate activities. The initiative was coordinated by School Counsellor Mrs. Faheema Mustafa and Activity Coordinator Mrs. Roshini, with the valuable support of the Mother Teachers.
The program reflected this year’s theme —
“Access to Services and Mental Health During Catastrophes and Emergencies.”
The various sections took up activities of their choice from a list suggested by the school counsellor, focusing on emotional awareness, self-expression, and positive coping skills.
Grade 1: Students took part in Draw Your Happy Place, where they illustrated their personal safe spaces, helping them understand comfort and security during challenging times.
Grade 2: Students enjoyed the Feelings Faces Game, learning to identify, name, and express different emotions effectively, Some students were also engaged in yoga and mindful breathing activities outdoors.
In addition, both grades participated in fun and interactive activities such as the Emotion Freeze Song and group games that encouraged teamwork and emotional recognition. Students also created expressive paper plate props like Emotion Wheels, Feelings Masks, Calm Breathing Wheels, Positive Shields, and Kindness Flowers. These hands-on art activities allowed children to explore their emotions creatively while developing coping and social-emotional skills.
The celebration successfully nurtured emotional literacy, mindfulness, and kindness among young learners, laying a strong foundation for mental well-being from an early age
