World Mental Health Day – Preparatory Section

October 9, 2025:

The Preparatory Section of Shantiniketan Indian School observed World Mental Health Day on 9th October 2025 with great enthusiasm under the guidance of Mr. Wayne Rodrigues (Academic Supervisor) and Ms. Nazia Tahseen (Activity Coordinator), with the support of all teachers.
The day began with a warm welcome by Ms. Faheema Mustafa, Wellness Counsellor, followed by a short-guided meditation — “Breathe in calm, breathe out stress!” — promoting mindfulness and emotional balance.
Students then participated in a Wellness Walk around the campus, carrying colorful placards with inspiring slogans like “Be kind to your mind!” and “A healthy mind is a happy mind!” spreading positivity and awareness about mental well-being.
After the walk, students took the Mental Health Pledge, promising to be kind, empathetic, and open about their feelings. They also created Coping Toolbox Posters highlighting healthy ways to manage emotions and built Class Kindness Chains symbolizing unity and compassion.
The celebration beautifully blended mindfulness, movement, and creativity, helping students understand the value of emotional wellness and kindness.
